Dimetra Crash Courses
What is a crash course
Crash courses are designed to provide training in hot trends and topics for professionals in the language service industry. They are usually preceded by a masterclass. A crash course is a 3-day event during which experienced professionals share their knowledge in the form of intensive training sessions which include both theory and practice.
Why crash courses are important and why you should never miss one
A crash course is designed to provide comprehensive knowledge on a specific topic through training. Although it is structured to include both theory and practice, the practical aspects are designed in such a way so as to provide knowledge that language service professionals can implement and use at once; even during their training.
This is a key feature in all the courses provided by Dimetra Academy. Hands-on projects, guides or case-studies are included in all the courses in order to help participants implement the knowledge acquired quickly and efficiently.
What is the aim of a crash course
The aim of a crash course is clear and straightforward. It aims to equip participants with the knowledge required in a clearly-defined topic so that upon completion of the intensive 3-day training they can readily, confidently and effectively use the knowledge acquired for themselves or their organisation.
Who should attend
A crash course is designed primarily for experienced professionals in the translation industry. Junior language service professionals with expertise in the topic covered by a crash course are also welcome and can greatly benefit from the interaction with experts.
How is a crash course different from a bootcamp and a masterclass
Crash courses and bootcamps are similar. They have the same structure and purpose. The only difference is their length. While bootcamps are more intensive and cover more complex topics that require a longer training period, usually 5 consecutive days, crash courses are designed for topics that can be covered in 3 days. Masterclasses are much shorter, cover key points of a specific topic and usually precede a crash course or a bootcamp.
